On the 11th grade team, we strive to instill a sense of academic rigor and discipline within the thoughts and actions of our students. We do so by emphasizing project-based-learning and through portfolio building in all major subject areas.
Revision and mastery of essential skills and abilities, which leads to independent thinking and acting is the goal of the 11th grade team so that our students - when they become Seniors - will have both the “hard” and “soft” skills needed to be successful in the 12th grade internships.
Students' grades will be based on the following components:
Homework = 30%
Projects/Essays = 30%
Tests/Quizzes = 20%
Class Participation = 20%
Other grade-related policies include:
Late homework is not accepted unless a student brings in a note from a parent or doctor excusing the absence.
Students who have an excused absence for quizzes and tests will be allowed to make them up before/after school, if they make an appointment with the teacher.
Projects will be accepted late, however, points will be deducted for each day it's late. The number of points deducted will be at the teacher's discretion.
