Printing in your classroom

  1. You must have the current drivers for the printer you wish to use. You may download them directly from the Lexmark website (see below) or ask a member of the Tech Committee (MLeffler, LHalo, DBoehm) for the set-up disc.

For Lexmark T622 or T630 printer:

  1. On the printer you want to use, print a network set up page:
  • On Lexmark T622 or T630 printer – from the READY state
 a. press right menu button THREE times (until “Utilities Menu” appears)
 b. press the SELECT button
 c. press right menu button TWICE you’ll see “Print Net Setup” in window
 d. press the SELECT button
 e. Network Setup page will print
  • On Lexmark C534n printer – from the READY state
               a.   press the Menu button
               b.   press the down arrow TWICE to Reports
               c.   press the check mark
               d.   press the down arrow twice again to Network Setup page
               e.   press the check mark
               f.    a Network Setup page will print

  1. Look for the IP Address line (under the TCP/IP listings) 
  1. This is the number you will use to set up your laptop for wireless printing
  1. On your computer:

1.      Go to your START menu

2.      Select Printers and Faxes

3.      Click on “Add a Printer

4.      Click NEXT

5.      Select a “Local printer attached to this computer  (uncheck “Automatically detect and install my plug and play printer” if checked)

6.      Click NEXT

7.      Click in the circle – “Create a new port

8.      From the drop down menu (black arrow) choose “Standard TCP/IP port

9.      Click NEXT

10. Click NEXT (again)

11. Enter the IP address from STEP 2 (see above)

12. Click NEXT

13. Click NEXT (Standard Generic network card)

14. Click FINISH

15. Under left column (Manufacturer) scroll to LEXMARK (or Lexmark PCL)

16. Under right column (printer type) scroll to Lexmark T622, T630 or C534n

17. Click NEXT

18. Rename the printer to a name of your choosing (usually the room number)

19. Click NEXT

20. Click NEXT (again)

21. Click FINISH

22. Click Continue Anyway (if this option appears in a dialog box)

23. At this point software printer drivers may be loading

24. A test page is being sent to the printer……” dialog box appears

25. Click OK

26. If a test page prints out, then you are done!

OR

  1. Fill out a Request for Tech Support form and drop in mailbox in 106A.
  1. Bring your laptop to Room 106A (Thursday morning ONLY).
